Gifts to Plant Fund Accounts

All gifts posted in gift revenue accounts (516720: Private Gifts – Capital Assets or 516902:  Pledged gifts – Capital Assets) that are posted to a plant fund cost center (7xxxx) are presumed to be restricted gifts based.  In addition, it is CMU’s policy that gifts are spent last.  Thus, a determination must be made on all plant fund cost centers with an available balance the portion of that balance that is attributable to (restricted) gifts for year end reporting.
