Making Your Browser Safe

The trick then is make your browser safer than its default settings, which probably are not restrictive enough, and yet allow you to surf the web without preventing access to many sites.

*Note that turning off these settings may interfere with some websites.
One last point is that browsers such as IE and Netscape are often found to contain bugs. It is highly recommended to check the home pages for these products to check for bug fixes or patches that repair security holes in the particular version that you are running; in many cases you may benefit by simply upgrading to a newer version.
